RECIPE. Steel cut oatmeal with egg whites

Here's the breakfast of champions. It's a completely healthy breakfast balanced with carbs and protein, to give you the energy you need to start the day. My favorite store, Trader Joe's has 8 minute quick oats so that's about as long as this is gonna take to make! To make 2 servings, you'll need:

~ 1/2 cup oats
~ 1 1/2 cups water
~ eggs, just the whites*
~ dash of cinnamon
~ 1/2 cup walnuts, or your favorite nuts
~ drizzle of honey

Put the water, oats and cinnamon in a sauce pan and cover, cook on medium heat til it boils then turn it on low and stir occassionally til the water is absorbed. (Watch 'em- you don't know how many times I've made a mess of the stove when it boils over!)

Crack your eggs in a sautee pan with some cooking spray, just the whites (that's where all the protein is) and stir as they cook til they're white and not runny.

Put eggs and oats in a bowl and top with nuts and a drizzle of honey. Now go eat!
*Use however many you like, I use 6 egg whites in mine every morning!
